A full house of suggestions: Thank you, Fort Langley.

Over 100 people came out to share their views on IGA site redevelopment

The Fort Langley Community Hall was packed last night (April 7, 2011) with participants offering suggestions to the Lee Family on the redevelopment of the Fort IGA site.
Architect Bryce Rositch outlined siting approaches, scale, height and massing as some of the possible issues for each table of participants to discuss and provide their suggestions.
Kurt Alberts, former Township Planner responsible for the first Official Community Plan for Fort Langley, chaired the two-hour planning session.
The Lee Family hosted the evening and were pleased with the willingness of the community to share thoughts about the site’s redevelopment. “The input received this evening will help our family in the many decisions we must make,” said Robert Lee, “so that our architect and builder can move forward with plan preparation.”
The Lee Family hopes to be able to show building drawings at an open house in the near future. The one consistent message heard last night was that the loss of the store was a severe blow to the community and a speedy recovery is wished by all.
Thank you, Fort Langley!

  1. It was an excellent discussion and I’m excited to see what the future holds for the IGA, the Lees, and the Village.
