The IGA site is located within a Heritage Conservation area and, therefore, must have Township Council’s approval before a building permit can be processed.
Over 100 people gave their input for site redevelopment in April at a community planning workshop. Based upon that input the architect and builder formulated plans which would meet the Township’s design guidelines and community plan goals. Over 350 people viewed the plans at an Open House in June and submitted very positive comments with an overall 95% endorsement.
Township planners and the Heritage Review Panel have also given their endorsement.
The Township staff are recommending that Council authorize the heritage permit which would allow the Lee Family to commence the building permit application process.
Council will be making their decision at the meeting on:
Monday July 25, 2011 at 7:00 pm
at the Township of Langley Civic Facility
Fraser River Presentation Theatre – 4th Floor
